Alto Saxophone

Born in 1987 in Bristol, England, Dominic began his studies at Chetham's School of Music before studying for his Bachelor Degree at the Royal College of Music in London, where he learnt with Kyle Horch. He then went on to further his education under the guidance of Prof. Daniel Gauthier at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, Germany. During this time he spent 4 months studying at the Conservatoire of Music in Lyon, France with Jean-Denis Michat as part of the Erasmus Exchange Scheme.

Dominic was a prize winner in the Yamaha European Foundation Scholarship Competition, as well as being awarded 1st Prize in the Jane Melber Saxophone Competition. He was recently awarded the 2nd Prize in the renowned 'Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artists Competition' in 2012.

In 2009 he was awarded a DAAD scholarship to study in Germany, which was followed by a Leverhulme Study Abroad Scholarship which allowed him to complete his studies abroad.

Dominic has played in many of the UK's finest concert venues, including St. Johns Smith Square, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields and the Bridgewater Hall.

Since 2011 Dominic has been the saxophone tutor for the National Youth Wind Ensemble of Great Britain, and has been a deputy teacher at the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music. In April 2013 he became the Saxophone Tutor at the Birmingham Junior Conservatoire.

In 2010 Dominic was given the opportunity to lead a week of masterclasses and workshops at the National Conservatoire of Kenya in Nairobi, which remains one of the highlights of his career so far.
