Tenor Saxophone

Enrico was born in 1985 in Karl Marx-Stadt. He studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne with Prof. Daniel Gauthier, where he received a Diploma in Music Pedagogy, as well as a Performance Diploma. During this time, Enrico spent 4 months studying in Namur, Belgium, with Michael Mergny as part of the Free Mover programme.

Before studying in Cologne, Enrico learnt with Ragnar Schnitzler in Löbau-Zittau. During this period he played many concerts as a soloist and as a chamber musician and was a multiple prize winner in the 'Jugend Musiziert' competition. In 2003 Enrico was awarded the first prize in the International Chamber Music Competition in Jawor, in the International Saxophone Competition 'Saxmania' in Stettin, Poland, and in the 'Yamaha Sax Contest' in Berlin. He was also awarded a special prize in the 'Carl-Schroeder Competition' in Sonderhausen, and the 'Hiller Competition' in Görlitz.

Enrico has gained much orchestral experience as a previous member of both the Sachsen Youth Symphony Orchestra and the German Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also performed with the Bergisch Symphony Orchestra in the Staatskappelle Dresden, with the National Philharmonic Orchestra under Justus Frantz, as with the Essen Philharmonic Orchestra. 

As a chamber musician, Enrico has premiered many contemporary work, most notably compositions by Enno Poppe, Rodrigo Lopez Klingenfuss and Myunghoon Park, as well as appearing in the Cologne MusikTriennale Festival.

Enrico teaches at the Hamm Music School.
