Soprano saxophone

Born in Poznan, Poland in 1988, Magda studied with Dorota Samsel at the Frederick Chopin Music School in Poznan, as well as attending the Hans Eisler Hochschule für Musik in Berlin, where she studied with Detlef Bensmann. Since 2007, Magda has studied at the Hocschule für Musik in Cologne under the guidance of Daniel Gauthier. In 2010 Magda was awarded a place at the CNSM, Paris, to study for 4 months with Claude Delangle under the Erasmus Exchange scheme.

Magda has furthered her musical education by attending masterclasses led by saxophonists such as Arno Bornkamp, Claude Delangle, Dominique Tassot, Ed Bogaard, Joel Versavaud, Radek Knop, Christian Wirth and Lars Mlekusch.

Her musical accomplishments are demonstrated by her numerous national and international competition successes, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. Most notably, Magda has been awarded the 1st and 2nd Prize in the International Saxophone Competition in Metz, France, as well as the 'Grand Prix' in the International 'Leopold-Bellan Competition' in Paris. In 2004 she made her debut with the Brandenburg Chamber Orchestra in Berlin.

Over the last few years, Magda has received scholarships from the 'Ministry for Culture' for 'Special Musical Accomplishment', from the 'Lions Club' in Poland, and from the Poznan Province 'Ministry for Culture and Heritage'.

Magda has performed in many concerts and festivals throughout Europe, including in Poland, Germany, France and Sweden. Highlights include performing in the 'Acht-Brücken' Festival in Cologne, in the 'Meister von Morgen' festival in Koblenz, the 'Chanterelle' festival in Poland, and most recently in the 'Forum for New Music' in the DeutschlandFunk, Cologne in 2012.

Magda has taught the saxophone at the Burscheid Music School since 2011.
